OUR STORY
We found our beautiful spot under the Kaimai Ranges in 2013 when we decided we wanted a lifestyle change from the busy Auckland scene.
The property has expansive established gardens in which we’ve spent many hours reimagining and reshaping over the years. The large trees change with the seasons, completely altering the landscape and atmosphere of the property every few months. One of our favourite parts of Tui Ridge is the vista looking towards the Kaimai’s, which provides breathtaking sunsets no matter the season.
We’re an animal loving family, with a cat, dog, two horses, and plenty of chickens in the mix. We love to meet people and share our place.
Our cabins, Tui Treehouse, The Ark, Morepork Hideout and the The Pines all offer different types of accomodation and great views and privacy and are the perfect escape for some R&R.
THE GARDEN
We grow our own vegetables and have free range chickens which provide us with plenty of eggs.
Our home orchard is a work in progress, we are learning very quickly how to grow our own veges and fruit but still some way off from being self sufficient.

"Tui Ridge was absolutely fantastic. We fell totally in love with Kirsten's perfect garden - the hammock, tire swing, cosy reading nooks, and veggie patch, all surrounded by magnificent flowers and greenery. A beautifully tranquil and refreshing place. Tui Ridge is fully equipped with hot showers, wifi, cooking and eating essentials, Overall, we couldn't have had a better stay. It's a magical place, with such a homely, relaxing atmosphere, we could've stayed forever. 10/10 :)"
"Everything is exactly as described and I absolutely loved the Ark. Its very cosy, very quiet and I just loved the feel of it and being surrounded by wood instead of concrete! A wooden cocoon. It's in a neat part of New Zealand, the views wonderful, and it's so quiet , all you hear are the birds. Plenty to discover around there at a short drive. There is a kitchen and space to use internet and be able to make your meal which is very convenient for budget travellers. But the best was the hospitality and friendliness of the family! If you are still hesitating, don't this is a super spot!"
"Staying at The Ark at Tui Ridge was a wonderful experience. I felt like Alice in Wonderland. The cabin was cosy and the spacious guest dedicated kitchen and living area made us appreciate the cabin even more. The meticulously landscaped garden with hundreds of multi-coloured roses and flowers made a perfume of our walks. Even the vegetable garden that Kirsten so generously shared with us gave us plenty."
